Cast copper-alloy chape of probable medieval to post-medieval date. The chape is sub-conical and tapers to a rounded knop. The aperture is sub-oval . Two holes have been drilled into the chape for attachment. It has a dark green patina with some wear and damage. It measures 23 mm long, 6 mm wide and weighs 2.4 grams. See also WMID-C808A3

Cast copper alloy spur. This is mostly complete, the terminals of the arms are bifurcated with a pin passing through the centre and would have acted as hinge for the rest of the arm (now missing). At the back of the spur projects the rowel box which is oval in section and expands to its terminal its split for the rowel, which is now missing. Cast copper alloy horse harness pendant length 42mm, width 25mm, thickness 2mm, weight 4.25g. The face has the heraldic arms of three chevrons, these are recessed and filled with red enamel, the surface of the mount is gilt (Or, three chevronels gules). At the top of the shield is a lug with a singel rivet at its apex. This coat-of-arms belongs to the De Clare family who held the earldom of Gloucester between 1180-1314 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_of_Gloucester. A fragment of a medieval silver-gilt finger-ring. Only the bezel of the ring survives, which represents either a winged figure holding a heart, or a winged, sprouting heart. A section of the hoop of the ring survives attached to the back of the bezel. The gilding is worn and survives mainly in the recessed areas of the bezel.

The forward edge is expanded to form a large cylinder with a narrowed mid section that holds a sheet copper alloy roller. The arms are rectangular and have a high convex curve. The strap bar is narrowed and recessed. This dates to 1200-1400.

Circular dress hook, round face with pinked and raised border, design of two initials, probably T A, in Lombardic script flanking a heart beneath a flower-head. Recurving hook on the back has been broken perhaps in an attempt to straighten it but the form of the hook suggests that it was originally bent in an s-shape, which, with the round shape of the front would suggest that this was a cap-hook. Middle Palaeolithic handaxe this would have been cordate shaped but the tip has been truncated, this is an old break. It is bifacial worked with large flaking scars covering the ventral and dorsal sides, the is short, fine retouch along the edges. Dark brown flint with creamy patches throughout, a thin light creamy patina has formed. Nicholas Ashton from the British Museum has said 'It's probably of a type that is known as a 'bout coupe' or 'Coygan type' handaxe, which generally seem to date to between 60 ,000- 40,000 years ago.'
