An early-medieval hammered penny of Cnut, struck at the Lincoln mint. On the obverse is a left facing bust holding a sceptre with a lis head. The legend reads: CNV-T REX. The reverse has a voided short cross with annulet ends and a pellet centre with the legend: LEOFPIN ON LIN.
Cnut's short cross coinage was struck between c.1029 and c.1036, and this coin corresponds to North number 790.
