An incomplete iron bell of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1700 - 1900. The bell is quadrangular with sloping sides to a narrow rounded top. An applied ovate sectioned looped handle is present set transversely along the top. The wide circular opening to the base of the bell is broken and worn. A smaller separate loop is present to the top of the bell inside from which the clapper would have been suspended. The metal has a dark orange/brown patina and is heavily corroded. The bell is 128.4mm tall. The base is 82.1mm x 84.5mm x 5.1mm. The handle is 51.3mm x 11.9mm x 8.2mm. It weighs 319g. …

A complete Russian lead bag seal of Post-medieval to modern date (AD 1700-1850). The seal is comprised of a single disc of metal which is perforated by a hole running across its diameter. The holes would have been for wire or textile ligatures which were used to secure a bag. Stamped text can be seen on both sides of the seal; one bears three lines of text which appear to read NI/AP12R/1802•. This text is likely to represent the name of the Quality Control Officer and possibly a code for the location at which the Officer worked or the registered number of the sealing tongs he used.…

An incomplete cast copper-alloy knife pommel of Post-medieval to modern date (AD 1500-1800).The object is anthropomorphic and depicts a head possibly wearing a head dress. The tang missing due to an old break as is the base of the pommel where it would have affixed to a handle. Similar examples can be seen on the PAS database: Unique ID's SUSS-6AAFA5, HAMP1432, IOW-0B41C2 The metal is a greenish brown in colour. No weights or Measurements taken at the Rally.

A complete copper-alloy hooked clasp of early Post-medieval date (AD 1500-1600). The hooked clasp consists of a single piece of wire bent into two attachment spirals at its head (bent inward towards the shank of the hooked clasp) and a single hook (also bent back towards the shank possible post depositionally). The hooked clasp is a Read class A, type 1, number 583. The metal is a dark brown with some green inclusions. Read, Pg 155, No 583.

An incomplete copper-alloy lid from a set of nested cup weights. The lid is hinged and would originally have been attached to the outer case of the set, and it retains its hinge-lug. Three sub-rectangular struts are situated on the upper side of the lid - two arranged in a V shape emerging from one side and a single in between the V from the other side. The single strut is riveted with two rivets whilst the double V shaped struts each have a single rivet. A post medieval Venetian coin; a soldino of Agostino Barbarigo (1486-1501) made of an unusual alloy of gold and silver which appears golden coloured instead of the usual silver. This design was used by Barbarigo before he changed over to the new (and much more common) soldino design. However, the style overall is bad, especially the lettering and the mint mark of N over M to the right of the doge is not listed in the detailed catalogue (Barrie Cook pers comm.) A complete but worn struck / hammered copper alloy trade token, issued by Samuel Lvdinton (of the Mercer's Arms), during the mid 17th Century (1660-1683). Both Townsend (1983, p.40) and Williamson (1889, p461, #155) has identified this token as belong to that of Samuel Ludinton, who was mayor of the City of Lincoln in 1647 and 1660. There was another Samuel Ludinton, probably the son of the former, who held the office of Sheriff in 1681 and Mayor in 1683 (Williamson, 1889, p461). An incomplete fragment of a cast copper-alloy probable end cap (terminal) from a scale-tang knife of post-medieval date. The terminal is heavily abraded being broadly square in plan and sub-rectangular (D shaped) in cross section. On the reverse face a D shaped cast vertical groove is present which divides the cap evenly into two parts. It is likely that this groove or slot would have originally been much deeper and would have enabled the upper part of the tang to be accommodated. A cast lead token of probable early post-Medieval date. The token is sub-circular in plan. One one side is the relief-moulded image of a quadruped (possibly a horse or donkey) standing left, with a checkered pattern of infill and a crude flowerhead or sun design in the top right of the field. The reverse image is that of a gate with four horizontal bars, four vertical bars and one diagonal bar. Two finials project upwards at the top, while underneath are two letters: [..] G.
