A complete but worn struck / hammered copper alloy trade token, issued by Samuel Lvdinton (of the Mercer's Arms), during the mid 17th Century (1660-1683).
Both Townsend (1983, p.40) and Williamson (1889, p461, #155) has identified this token as belong to that of Samuel Ludinton, who was mayor of the City of Lincoln in 1647 and 1660. There was another Samuel Ludinton, probably the son of the former, who held the office of Sheriff in 1681 and Mayor in 1683 (Williamson, 1889, p461). This trade token could therefore date from between 1647 to 1683.
