Description: A complete cast silver, or possibly silver-gilt, dress hook dating to the early Post-Medieval period (c. 1500-1600), of Read (2008) Class K, Type 2. The object is an openwork, moulded-relief, circular plate decorated with a love-heart in the centre surrounded by a floral wreath made up of five flowers, probably roses, spaced equidistantly apart with foliage between. A rectangular attachment loop extends from the upper edge of the wreath. Description: A incomplete silver spoon, dating to c. AD 1580-1625, represented by the bowl and the lower portion of the stem. The ovoid bowl has an integral sub-rectangular stem. The interior of the bowl is stamped at the narrower end, just below the stem, with the London silver mark, a crowned leopard’s head. On the reverse, the stem bears a stamped ‘WC’ – in the form of a letter C on its side enclosing a letter W – the mark of the silversmith William Cawdell. Description: A gold finger-ring of late Roman date, c. AD 200-400, which has been squashed almost flat. The bezel has an oval collet for the oval intaglio (now missing). The setting has a border around it formed of a narrow projecting flange decorated with a ‘rope’ design. There are four equally spaced brambled globular knops (approx. 3mm by 2mm), at least one of which has traces of gilding. The brooch dates to the Medieval period, c. AD 1200-1400. Description: An incomplete cast silver spoon with a circular bowl. The handle is broken at the lower end and is also bent at an acute angle close to the bowl where the metal is noticeably thinner. It has a circular cross section. At the back of the bowl where the handle joins it the end of the handle broadens out. The bowl is shallow and wide, and has an inner groove creating a distinct rim. A silver hammered penny of Edward III (1327-1377). This coin is Pre-Treaty, Series E, Standard Type G, and dates between 1354-1355. North no 1168. The mint is Royal York. The obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust. The obverse legend reads EDWARDVS REX ANGLI F. Annulets are present in the Obverse legend. The reverse shows a solid long cross with 3 pellets in each quadrant. The reverse legend reads CIVI/TAS/EBO/RACI. Die axis is 10 o'clock. It weighs 1.01g. The diameter is 20.85mm.
