A Post Medieval gold memento mori ring, dating to around the year AD1680. The object is D-shaped and inscribed on the internal surface with a skull engraved on the outer surface. The inscription reads: S : C : ob : 17 : March : 80 - [initials] died 17th March 1680. There is also a maker's stamp which appears to be a letter P. Judy Rudoe at the British Museum notes that when the first two numbers are omitted in the inscriptions on memento mori rings, the date is 17th century. Thus the coin was produced upon the death of an individual in AD1680.

There is also stamped maker's mark bearing the initials 'RD' in black letter script but the mark cannot be identified, however the lettering is consistent with a date in the late 17th Century or early years of the 18th Century AD.

Gold posy ring with a plain band or hoop, D-shaped in section with a flat inner side. There is an incised inscription running around most of the inside of the hoop. It reads 'Constant am I untill I die ', and all the letters are in lower case italics, apart from an initial upper case letter 'C' of Constant and the upper case 'I'. The long 's' in 'ConStant' is more like an 'f '' and this style of 's' stopped being used in about 1780 (http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/words/why-f-instead-of-s-in-old-fashioned-spellings). Post-medieval gold posy ring dating 1697 to 1715 AD. The ring is a simple gold posy ring circular in plan and D-shaped in section with a wide band, a plain exterior and inscribed inside with a brief sentiment that is difficult to decipher. The legend is possibly *VERT MERITS FOREVER* vert being short for virtue it would therefore translate as virtue keeps us forever. The language used in many early posy rings was Norman French, with French, Latin and English used in later times. There is also a maker's mark detailed as EG. There is no ring with this maker's mark in the British Museum,…

Gold 14th century AD finger-ring with an inset cobalt-blue glass oval setting. The bezel has 7 convex settings to hold the stone and a decorated flower inscribed into an integral square plate on either side of the hoop. There is no makers mark and the construction would suggest the 14th or 15th century at the latest. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the metal by the British Museum's Scientific Research section indicated a surface composition of approximately 94-95% gold, 3-4% silver, the rest being copper. The setting was identified as cobalt-blue glass. The length…

An incomplete silver seal matrix depicting (probably) a stylised representation of Queen Anne who reigned from 1702-14. The object has an oval matrix with a groove flanking the outside edge and depicts a female bust at the centre. To the reverse is an oval platform from which rises a rectangular-sectioned handle (11x8mm), narrowing to a 5.5x3.5mm waist before expanding again to 7.5x4.9mm. Here it meets an inversion of itself, narrowing to a recent-ish break measuring 3.8x2.3mm. The seal matrix survives to a height of 14.7mm and weighs 8.52g. The matrix itself measures 18.8x17.1x2.5mm.

Each shoulder is decorated with four closely spaced hatched lines on either side, projecting downwards (away from the bezel).
