An incomplete probable post Medieval silver annular brooch possibly dating to c. 18th century. The frame of the brooch is slightly compressed from damage but would have been circular in plan. It is convex at the front and concave at the reverse and has ridged edges. The frame is pierced with a circular hole to take the pin. The pin is missing. On the reverse there is a stamped maker’s mark with the initials possibly reading ‘IS’ on either side of the hole. There are various scratches around the frame on both sides. Description: A complete cast silver annular brooch dating to the Post-Medieval period, probably 17th century. It is circular in plan, with a slightly hollowed back and plano-convex section to the frame. In one edge of the latter is a constriction designed to house the pin, which is flanked on each side by a double transverse collar. The pin itself is plain and undecorated, having been wound around the constricted section. A small, complete, woman's dress clasp, with pin, dating to the late 18th century AD. The outer surface is decorated with a stamped design of raised ovals interspersed with raised ridges, to imitate gems in a setting; the reverse surface is flat and undecorated. The pin is wrapped simply around a break in the raise decorative pattern of the brooch frame, allowing for free movement but fixing the pin in place upon the frame. A complete silver annular brooch of Medieval - Post-Medieval date. The brooch has a circular frame. It is convex at the front and concave at the rear and has ridged edges. The frame is pierced with a circular hole to take the pin. The pin is D-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear.
