Gold 14th century AD finger-ring with an inset cobalt-blue glass oval setting. The bezel has 7 convex settings to hold the stone and a decorated flower inscribed into an integral square plate on either side of the hoop. There is no makers mark and the construction would suggest the 14th or 15th century at the latest. Non-destructive X-ray fluorescence analysis of the metal by the British Museum's Scientific Research section indicated a surface composition of approximately 94-95% gold, 3-4% silver, the rest being copper. Fragment of late medieval or post-medieval silver finger ring, broken at both ends and partially straightened, with traces of pale gilding surviving on one face, probably the internal face. Inscribed ]*GOD * IS * A[ on probably the internal face, and ]T E * I * H O[ on the probably external face, which is worn and damaged with multiple scratch marks. An English inscription in roman capitals suggests a 16th or 17th century date. Width of band 5.5mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Weight 1.8g.

An incomplete Medieval silver-gilt finger-ring (1200-1400). Treasure case no. 2013 T147. The bezel is square in plan and the underside is flat with bevelled edges. The central square cell measures 8.40mm x 8.40mm and is 5.25mm in height. It contains a flat clear 'glass' setting, now broken. Earth behind the glass gives it a greyish muddy appearance. A narrow ledge around the base of the cell has been stamped with small evenly spaced linear grooves. The hoop is largely missing and only the stubs survive. A complete silver annular brooch of Medieval - Post-Medieval date. The brooch has a circular frame. It is convex at the front and concave at the rear and has ridged edges. The frame is pierced with a circular hole to take the pin. The pin is D-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. Description: One part of a silver post medieval cuff link. One terminal survives it has a solid head which is square in plan, the front face is faceted and projecting and the back face is flat. There are fragmentary double stranded corroded iron wires projecting from the back face, presumably the beginning of a chain which would link this part of the cuff link to another. An incomplete silver-gilt finger-ring of possible Medieval date, 14th century. Length: 15.4mm; width: 14.2mm; thickness: 4.9mm width of hoop: 5.0mm; weight: 2.32g. . This incomplete finger-ring comprises a small portion of the hoop and a complete bezel. The hoop, with a break at each end, is rectangular in section. The soldered bezel, in the form of a flower, is composed of four small petals and four larger sepals lying behind and between the petals. Each petal and sepal has a central rib with radiating 'veins'. At the centre of the flower is a soldered spherical knop.

A misshapen Medieval or Early Post-Medieval silver thimble with a domed crown. Fifteenth or early sixteenth century. Length: 18.0mm; width: 24.0mm. Weight: 6.04g. Treasure case no. 2008 T133 (disclaimed). The whole of the body, including the crown, is indented with circumferential lines of small circular punch marks. No evidence for manufacturing marks on the plain rim at the opening. Small gold finger-ring. The hoop of the ring is formed from five lozenge-shaped panels that give the ring a hexagonal shape. Each panel is undecorated on both inner and outer faces. The hoop is slightly more rounded on the interior where each panel meets the next, probably for comfort while being worn. The ring survives in good condition with few surface scratches or marks. The ring has an external diameter of 17.3mm and weighs 5.52g. It is 14th or 15th century in date.
