Silver Denarius of the Roman Republic. It has Roma on the obverse and a horseman facing left, with sword aloft and holding a severed head on the reverse. Q beneath the horses knees indicating official coinage. Probably of M. Sergius Silus (116-115BC). It has been pierced in the centre by a square hole, now corroded. Diameter 17mm x 18mm. Weight 3g.
