A large piece of possible exotic worked stone, of uncertain date and function. It feels to be lighter than if it was made of metal, and heavier than if it was ceramic. It is dark grey / black and very fine grained with rounded (vitrified?) inclusions which have a lustrous silver shine. The matrix is hard and irregular, but can be crushed with a thumbnail. A complete copper alloy mount of Early-Medieval date. The mount is triquetra in form with a flat, rectangular profile. The upper surface is decorated with an intricate carved interlace design which retains gilding. The exact nature of the decoration is difficult to determine due to wear though an intertwining rope work-style border appears to be present around each loop and into the centre panel. A complete cast copper alloy button and loop fastener of Roman date. The fastener has a trapezoidal loop cast integrally to a hemispherical hollow boss. The loop and boss are on seperate plains and are joined by an integrally cast shank. Button and loop fasteners of this type date to the 2nd century AD. The metal has a mid brownish-green patina and is very worn. The button and loop fastener is 38.7mm long, 16.6mm wide and weighs 10.2g.

Post Medieval copper alloy, asymmetric, buckle frame, dating from AD1550-1700. The frame is sub-rectangular, with one square loop and the other semi-circular, separated by an integral bar. The underside of the frame is flat and the inner and outer edges of the upper side are bevelled On the bar are the remains of what appears to have been an iron pin, now missing. Similar buckles are shown by Whitehead, 2003, 90-91, where a date of c. 1550-1700 a date that seems to fit with other evidence. Length 33.6mm, Width 25.0mm, Thickness 2.3mm, Masss 4.85g.

This is an unusual object that appears to be a mixture of copper alloy and iron. It would seem to be a cast representation of a pig with head and forelegs. There is a hole at the back of the head so it would seem to have been mounted in some way. The object has a parallel from MC Bishop 'Finds from Roman Aldborough, Oxbow Monograph 65, 1996. A complete knapped lithic implement of late Mesolithic to early Neolithic date, circa 7000 - 3500 BC. The implement is an awl or piercer formed from a secondary flake which is sub-ovate in plan and section with a small pointed projection extending from one edge. The striking plat from and bulb of percussion are present on the ventral surface along with radiating ripples of percussion. The dorsal surface is irregular with numerous flakes having been removed. A complete knapped lithic implement of Mesolithic date, circa 7000 - 4000 BC. The implement is a fabricator which is ovate in both plan and section. The ventral surface is fairly smooth with visible ripples of percussion. The dorsal surface has been extensively worked displaying covering semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. A complete knapped lithic implement of Bronze Age date, circa 2500 - 1500BC. The implement is a button scraper formed from a secondary flake which is ovate in plan and D-shaped in section. The ventral surface is smooth with no bulb of percussion or striking platform remaining. The dorsal surface has been extensively worked and displays long, abrupt, parallel retouch around the distal end. The flint is a chalky white colour.
