Complete early medieval decorated lead sword pommel of the 'cocked hat' type (c. 500 - 700 AD). The pommel has a shallow depression to the base which is partly filled with organic detriment due to the context of its deposition. The pommel is broadly triangular in shape with a rounded tip and two square faces at either end. The front, back and top faces are decorated with a pattern of a pair of twisting bands in relief. The pommel is in bad repair; one side has been bent out of place and a lower section of the pommel has been shorn off. A dark grey shiny patch at the top of the pommel …

An elaborate quatrefoil shaped cast copper alloy harness pendant, with inlaid enamelling. Ashley believes that these elaborate harness pendants were a later development of the earlier pendants. This example displays 'arms which are allusive for England and France' (Ashley, 2002, p23). He goes on to state that such pendants are likely to have been made after 1340 'when the fleur-de-lis of France were quartered with the lions of England'. Although an earlier date cannot be ruled out, due to earlier known alliances between England and France. The pendant has four lobes, each with a small…

An Anglo-Saxon or Anglian strap end (Thomas classification Class A, Type 1).
