A complete copper alloy mount of Early-Medieval date. The mount is triquetra in form with a flat, rectangular profile. The upper surface is decorated with an intricate carved interlace design which retains gilding. The exact nature of the decoration is difficult to determine due to wear though an intertwining rope work-style border appears to be present around each loop and into the centre panel. It weighs 8.24g and has a maximum width of 24.6mm. Cast flat backed plate in the form of the head of a bird with curving bill, probably one of a symetrically addorsed pair, as adduced by ragged broken edges behind the body. A cast copper alloy shield shaped enamelled heraldic mount of probable 14th century AD date. In profile it is broadly D shaped. It is shield shaped in plan and rectangular in cross-section. The edge is cracked in one place and bent upwards a little. There are two holes in the plate, and the central rivet hole (2.85mm in diameter) has traces of iron corrosion inside it. A complete copper alloy box or harness mount, possibly of later Early Medieval date (940-1066 AD). The mount is quatrefoil in shape, with four trefoil shaped pierced lobes set around a circular base. This is concave on the reverse, creating a depression approximately 14mm deep. Early medieval gilded copper alloy mount decorated in Anglo-Saxon Style II, dating from the late sixth or seventh century. The upper surface is gilded and decorated with triple strand interlace terminating in a a snake's head. The decoration is similar to that seen on a gilt-bronze belt mount from North Elmsall, Yorkshire, (Speake, 1980, Pl. 8 j). The lower surface has no gilding and has two small rectangular projections for attachment, apparently unbroken. The mount is 20mm long, 10mm wide tapering to 8mm, 6mm thick and weighs 1.47g.
