An elaborate quatrefoil shaped cast copper alloy harness pendant, with inlaid enamelling. Ashley believes that these elaborate harness pendants were a later development of the earlier pendants. This example displays 'arms which are allusive for England and France' (Ashley, 2002, p23). He goes on to state that such pendants are likely to have been made after 1340 'when the fleur-de-lis of France were quartered with the lions of England'. A copper-alloy Medieval annular brooch dating to the period c.AD 1200-1300. The brooch is broadly ovate in plan, with a rectangular cross-section. A zoomorphic head projects from the middle point of each long edge, and curves around to point inwards. It is likely that these represent snakes. The reverse is undecorated, although has a constriction at each apex to acommodate the pin, which is now missing. A green-brown patina is on the surface, as well as traces of gilding. A lead medieval seal matrix, flat with a looped lug on the reverse (now squashed). Pointed oval, 35.1 mm x 21.8mm. Lug at 12 o'clock position. The central motif is a tall and thin stylised fleur de lys. The inscription reads + S' AVICE MARSCAL (Seal of Avice Marshall). The M is rather unusual, looking a bit like an E on its side. is reading is rather uncertain due to the level of corrosion on the matrix and the way in which the letters have been drawn. It is a personal seal and features a name, rather than a motto. 13th century.

A copper alloy Medieval penannular brooch dating from about AD 1000-1400 and of a type from the Finno-Ugrian areas of Russia. The brooch has a wire loop of 25.2mm diameter. The wire is sub-circular in section and is 2.2mm diameter. The terminals of the penannular hoop are long flat triangular plates, made in one with the hoop. They are decorated along the outer edge of each terminal with an incised zig-zag line and have a circular hole of about 1.8mm diameter in the rounded outer corner. Cast copper alloy strap end with a terminal in the form of a king's head, simple crown, neck-length hair, turned up at end, eyes and mount clearly defined. Body of Strap end trapezoid and box like and originally backed by a separate plate. Its face is divided into three zones each of which contains an incised chevron. An incomplete medieval badge in the form of an axehead, dating to the period c.AD 1300-1600. The axehead is an irregular triangle in plan, which narrows to a neck, and bifurcates to form a loop which would have accomodated the haft. This loop is now broken at its apex with a worn break. Decoration comprises a grid pattern on both the front and reverse of the blade. The wings of the axehead are now missing. A light grey patina is on the surface. An incomplete unusual copper alloy sword chape 1500 - 1700 AD. It is made from a cut and folded sheet with longitudinal facets. The vertical seam is overlapped on the back edge which has a concave constriction towards the narrowed terminal. Read (2001 89-90 nos 670-681) illustrates a number of these knife and sword chapes. The length is 37mm, and the width is 12mm, and the thickness 10mm.

A piece of lead bearing the impression of a seal of medieval date. The lead is sub-oval in plan and rectangular in section while the seal impression is circular. The seal depicts a tressure of three arches within which is a worn image possibly representing the Madonna and child The metal is amid whitish-grey and is worn. The object is 44.5mm long, 38.1mm wide, 6.6mm thick and weighs 38g.

A small rotary key, cast in copper alloy. The bow is circular and fairly small. There is no collar next to the bow. The stem is solid, with a flattened circular section, there is no projecting tip, as the end of the stem in hollow. The bit is simple, consisting of a square plate of copper alloy. A small cleft has been formed on either side of the bit, therefore forming four wards. The surface is a mid brownish-green colour and is pitted. The key is medieval in date. The surface has been filed. Parallels can be seen in Egan, p112-3, Fig: 86.

A copper-alloy thimble, dating to the 15th - 16th century. The thimble is short with a rounded top. The indentations in the thimble are circular. The indentations on the sides have been arranged in parallel columns, whilst the indentations on the top are arranged in a spiral. This thimble has been cast as one piece. The thimble does not thicken around the base, but there is an incised ring around the base of the thimble. The metal is a dark jade-green colour. Parallels can be seen in Egan (2005), p132, fig: 126.

A cast copper alloy belt-stud mount. The object is in the shape of a crowned head, with an attachment rivet pushed through his forehead. The crown is made up of three lobes, each incised with linear decoration. The details of the face are evident and the eyes, nose and mouth can still be seen. The reverse is concave, but there is a circular rim around the aperture and the rivet can be seen. These objects are typically medieval in date. The metal is a dark greyish-black colour.

An incomplete copper-alloy closed mirror case. Only the top plate survives and it is broken. The main body of the plate has been formed from a flat plate of copper alloy, with three parallel, pronged extensions. Inside these prongs are two further teeth, which are pierced. There is an axis bar running through the centre of the prongs and teeth, holding them all together and allowing them to operate as a hinge mechanism. An incomplete cast copper-alloy double looped sub-oval asymmetrical buckle, with a separate strap and pin bar. The pin is missing, but there is a pin recess. The metal is pitted and is a mid blackish-brown colour. These buckles date from circa 1350 - 1450. Similar types of buckles can be seen in Whitehead (2003), p87.
