The tri-lobed element is pierced with three evenly spaced circular holes forming a triangle. Each hole has a diameter of about 5.8mm. Its outer end is straight and on each face at the end it is decorated with a horizontal groove which has oblique grooves above and below. On one side, the grooves have almost worn away. A complete Neolithic to Bronze Age notched flint denticulate (c. 4000 - c. 801 BC.). This implement has been manufactured from a tertiary waste flake with a large striking platform. The dorsal face has a single off-centre median arris and on the right side at the distal end are two deliberately worked notches. The ventral face is convex and has a vague bulb of percussion and percussion scar. The flint is grey with creamy mottling and iron staining. Height: 48.9mm; width: 42.7mm; thickness: 18.4mm. An almost complete Mesolithic to Early Neolithic flint adze or axehead (c. 10000 BC-c. 3500 BC). This implement is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. One face has been entirely knapped and the other face has about 70% cortex. The flaking at the cutting edge end is long and short, scaled and semi-abrupt.
