Coin. Penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), broken, mended by finder
Obverse description: Facing bust crowned bearded and draped, flail-like ?sceptre left. Pellet border to ?canopy above and ?robe below. This distinctively draped and hirsute bust resembles Mossop 1970 plate 79 no. 10, which is ascribed to the Lincoln moneyer ODGRIM.
Obverse inscription: EADWARD REX [---], as kindly corrected by Kevin Leahy, who identifies P and adjacent ?character as rendering W.
Reverse description: Central cross pattee with circumferential legend.
