Copper alloy tweezers on a circular ring, probably Early Medieval in date, c. 600- 1100 AD. The ring is plain and appears to have been cast, it has a circular cross section. The diameter of the ring is 21.63mm with a thickness of 2.66mm. The tweezers themselves are symmetrical and have been attached to the ring by folding in half, over the ring. They have a D-shaped cross section, with the flat side facing inwards, most of the way down, until they being to widen, and flatten out at the terminals. A complete and very well preserved pair of tweezers of Middle Saxon date. The tweezers have wide flaring blades which are characteristically mid-Saxon, and a circular spring where the two blades meet. Along each of the sides is a bordering groove. On both blades there is decoration comprising punched pits and these coincide with lengths of the bordering grooves. Both sides also have additional decoration in the form of thin incised lines. Copper alloy tweezers, of Early Medieval date. Copper alloy tweezers which appear complete. The tweezers are bent slightly. The two arms flare towards the end and are bent inwards. The two ends overlap due to being bent. Both arms have punched decoration in the form of circles at the wider end. One side consists of 4 cicles in a line down the arm. The other arm has 5 circles in the shape of a cross.
