A flint thumbnail scraper of probable Neolithic date (c. 4000 - c. 2351 BC).
The tool is subcircular in plan, of 'D-shaped' section and has been struck on a secondary flake. The clearest retouch is at the distal end, where it is long, sub-parallel and abrupt; the mesial sides appear to have been roughly shaped, with the occasional abrupt retouch visible. Evidence of platform preparation is visible on the dorsal surface, adjacent to the striking platform. The ventral surface has a low bulb with bulbar scar but no ripples.
