A complete Neolithic flint flaked axehead, dating to the period BC 4000-2400. The axehead is sub-oval in plan as it is rounded at one terminal and tapers to a rounded point at the other. An incomplete knapped lithic axehead of Neolithic date (c.4000 BC - 2200 BC). The axehead is broken and may have been reused as a scraper. When complete the object would have been ovate in both plan and section though around half of the axehead is now missing due to a transverse break. The axehead has been bifacially flaked using covering scaled low angle flaking. Short scaled semi-abrupt retouch is visible along the distal edge suggesting the object may have been repurposed as a scraper after breaking.
The flint is an off-white patchy colour. The implement is 56.6mm long, 53mm wid…
