An incomplete copper alloy Buckle of Early-Medieval date (AD 900-1050). The object is a zoomorphic single-loop buckle frame. The pin is missing, bar and one arm of the frame ore missing due to old abraded breaks. The frame is D-shaped with Borre-style animal heads at the ends of the bar and the midpoint of the outer edge. The frame is D-shaped in cross-section and is decorated with incised, repeating rectangles. An incomplete Early Medieval copper alloy and enamel buckle, dating to c AD 650 - 750. It consists of the loop of what was probably a three-part buckle. Tongue and plate (which would have been integral to one another) and what was probably a sub-triangular body, are missing. A near complete copper-alloy and enamelled Early-Medieval buckle, dating from circa AD 700-800. The object is broadly an inverted triangle in plan with an expanded zoomorphic projection at the tip. The zoomorphic projection has oval shaped moulded eyes and a triangular snout or nose. Cast copper alloy pin from a D-shaped buckle, possibly dating from the Anglo-Saxon period, c.AD 575-625. The pin has broken off from the base plate above the loop that would have wound around the pin bar. The broken end is circular in section and 8 mm in diameter and the pointed end has been chiselled from both sides into a rectangular edge that is 5 mm in length and 3 mm in width. Description: The plate is a short rectangular in shape, measuring 22.04mm perpendicular to the hinged end and 23mm parallel to the hinged end. It is decorated with reticulate interlace on either side of the pin slot and bears a stylised figure in the centre. The figure is possibly male, but it is impossible to know who is depicted. Post Medieval copper alloy, asymmetric, buckle frame, dating from AD1550-1700. The frame is sub-rectangular, with one square loop and the other semi-circular, separated by an integral bar. The underside of the frame is flat and the inner and outer edges of the upper side are bevelled On the bar are the remains of what appears to have been an iron pin, now missing. Similar buckles are shown by Whitehead, 2003, 90-91, where a date of c. 1550-1700 a date that seems to fit with other evidence. Length 33.6mm, Width 25.0mm, Thickness 2.3mm, Masss 4.85g.

Two parts of a copper alloy object, a Medieval buckle dating from AD 1250 - 1450. About half of the hoop survives in two pieces. It is a rounded rectangle in section, expanding slightly in width at one end. This projection would have been part of a projecting pin rest and is thinner than the hoop of the frame. The hoop is decorated on the surviving side by expanding the width of the hoop into three openwork lobes, so there are three rings along the side of the hoop. A small light weight copper alloy buckle with pin missing probably early to late Post-Medieval 1500 to 1750AD. Probably from a of fine strap, its size and lightness suggest that it could come from a spur strap possibly from a dress spur. During the 14th and 15th centuries similar, though generally larger, objects are thought to have been used as single loop strap tensioners.
