The brooch has three sub-oval cone-shaped hollow bosses in a line, creating a scalloped edge on each side. Each boss has a setting in the apex for coral or enamel, now missing. An extremely corroded and incomplete cast copper-alloy probable Roman Trumpet brooch dating from 43-150AD. The trumpet head is circular with the vestiges and the lower arc is missing as are the axis bar and pin. The brooch has a green patina with corrosion products showing through. The length is 30mm, width is 7mm, thickness 6mm and the weight 14.05g.

A copper-alloy one piece brooch of La Tene III, late Iron Age to Roman date, probably a Nauheim derivative. The pin and bow are constructed from one piece of metal. The spring is of 4 coils. Much of the pin itself survives, and it projects downwards from the head to a length of 36 mm. After projecting at a right angle from the head, the bow is straight until the foot, when it curves back up towards the head and to the right (when brooch is facing).
