A flint leaf shaped arrowhead, probably early Neolithic (4000-3000 B.C.). Flint, grey/brown, translucent, no patination. Almost triangular in plan, except for an irregularity in shape on one edge. Lozenge-shaped cross-section. Bifacially worked with covering, scaled, low angle retouch.

An arrowhead, formed from tertiary flint, that is either barbed and tanged with the barbs having broken off or was originally a leaf shaped arrowhead that has been reworked to have a tang at the middle of the lower edge. The arrowhead is bifacially worked with covering low angle parallel retouch on the ventral side. The other side has long to invasive low angle scaled retouch. The arefact has recorticated although this has been removed at the base of the arrowhead around the tang. It is uncertain whether this is a result of reworking or later depositional damage. The object is sub-triangular in plan with a lozenge shaped cross-section. The flint has a rounded point and two seperate barbs. There is no central tang and it does not appear that one has broken away. The object has short parallel long angled retouch along each edge and is flaked on each surface. One long edge measures 5mm thick, while the opposite long edge is just 2mm thick. The arrowhead is on a light grey flint with no remaining cortex.
Dimensions: 53mm in lenght, 25mm in width (at base), 3.5mm in width (at tip), 5.5mm thick, 5.4g.

A complete knapped lithic implement of Neolithic date. The implement is a petit tranchet arrowhead which is sub-triangular in plan and rectangular in section with one edge shallower than the other. Both surfaces are smooth and extensive retouch is present along the left and right edges. The cutting edge has been formed by the removal of a single tranchet flake. A small notch is present at the butt of the implement which shows signs of retouch suggesting it may have been reused as a spoke shave or similar.
