A fragment of copper alloy object, perhaps of Early Medieval date, cautiously identified as a bridle bit cheekpiece dating from AD 1000 - 1100. The object is decorated with triple stranded interlace, with an openwork pattern of four circular holes in a lozenge shape, and possible further apertures interrupted by the breaks. Only one edge (the longest one) appears to be an original edge. The others are worn breaks. The reverse is moulded and contoured, but not decorated. Description: Fragment of a cast gilded copper alloy mount, set with silver rivets. The mount is roughly tri-lobed in form, comprising two large rounded lobes with a small, pierced lobe between them and a squared projection, probably broken, in the centre. A late Medieval to middle Post-Medieval copper-alloy sword pommel. The open end has a flat blunt edge allowing the artefact to be placed standing unsupported on a flat surface. It has a variable thickness ranging from 0.9mm to 3.5mm at this open end. The artefact is an elliptical-cylindrical, measuring 22.5mm x 16.4mm at the open end, with a closed domed apex. At the centre of the domed end is a sub-rectangular aperture measuring 5.4mm x 2.2mm at the narrower end and 2.5mm at the wider end. Early medieval gilded copper alloy mount decorated in Anglo-Saxon Style II, dating from the late sixth or seventh century. The upper surface is gilded and decorated with triple strand interlace terminating in a a snake's head. The decoration is similar to that seen on a gilt-bronze belt mount from North Elmsall, Yorkshire, (Speake, 1980, Pl. 8 j). The lower surface has no gilding and has two small rectangular projections for attachment, apparently unbroken. The mount is 20mm long, 10mm wide tapering to 8mm, 6mm thick and weighs 1.47g.

A cast copper alloy Early Medieval mount, probably dating from the 8th Century AD. The mount is ovoid in shape, and is domed, with a hollow reverse. The mount is in the form of an elongated man's face, with a three-dimensional front and a flat reverse. The face is long and thin, with a long nose in the centre, curvilinear raised lines projecting out from the top of the nose either side forming eyebrows. Medieval strap end, c. 1200-1400, made from sheet copper alloy with two leaves separated by a spacer. Rectangular, with a double indentation at its upper edge and a curved lower edge with a central projection. Undecorated. Through its upper part is a single rivet. Roman cast copper alloy Colchester derivative, rear spring hook brooch of Mackreth, 2011, Chapter 2, Part 2 Group 1.b., 60-63, Plate 38 of first century AD. Bow D sectioned and decorated with a longitudinal groove containing a stamped, chain like line. The catch plate is missing as is one wing of the head bar and the pin and spring mechanism. The underside of the head bar is hollow to hold the pin spring. Length 45.5mm, Width 19.4mm, Height 12.8mm, Mass 7.05g.
