Medievel ceramic vessel grittyware base sherd of a thrown bowl or jug, possibly a pancheon like vessel. Oxidised orange to orange/brown gritty ware, scratchable by thumbnail with force. Hackly, inclusions and voids to 2mm, occasional inclusions to 5 x 3mm and void to 8 x 2mm, including some grass voids. Well sorted, sub rounded to angular, inclusions mostly ironstone, mica and quartz. Does not react to dilute hydrochloric acid. The sherd demonstrates only light abrasion. It is has inclusions and voids to 2mm, occasional inclusions to 5 x 3mm and void to 8 x 2mm. These are well sorted, sub rounded to angular, and the inclusions are mostly ironstone, mica and quartz.
