Cast gilded silver miniature square-headed brooch. The head bears a central motif of three nested rectangles enclosing a horizontal rib, with an outer border of closely juxtaposed stamped circles of diameter 1mm. A curved bow springs from the innermost of the nested rectangles, and has a central longitudinal rib flanked by paired grooves. A U-shaped lug on the back retains the corroded stub of an iron pin. Fragment from the upper part of a silver bodkin or dress pin having a flat rectangular section through which is a narrow slot. . The terminal is in the form of a small, three dimensional, trefoil below which is a small hole. Both sides of the bodkin are decorated with a pattern of incised lines, transverse, longitudinal and angled. Some of the edges are chamfered.
