A single looped cast copper alloy buckle, dating from the late early-medieval to medieval period (10th to 12th century). The strap bar is very narrow, whilst the D-shaped frame is wide with a circular section. There is a notch for the pin, but the pin is missing. The frame is very thick, 8.85mm. An integral moulded decoration projects from either side of the buckle frame. The detail is unclear however it is possibly stylised representation of an animal head.
