An incomplete and undecorated Bronze Age copper-alloy Picardy pin (1400 BC-1250 BC). This object is circular in cross-section throughout its length with a cell/recess at the top and a swollen shaft. At the top, the sides of the cell are vertical. From here the sides taper inwards and then flare outwards before gently tapering inwards towards a transverse break at the bottom. Close to the break a tiny projection may be the reamains of a loop. The depth of the cell is 3.1mm. There is no indication of any decorative material within the cell. A complete Neolithic to Bronze Age notched flint denticulate (c. 4000 - c. 801 BC.). This implement has been manufactured from a tertiary waste flake with a large striking platform. The dorsal face has a single off-centre median arris and on the right side at the distal end are two deliberately worked notches. The ventral face is convex and has a vague bulb of percussion and percussion scar. The flint is grey with creamy mottling and iron staining. Height: 48.9mm; width: 42.7mm; thickness: 18.4mm. An almost complete Mesolithic to Early Neolithic flint adze or axehead (c. 10000 BC-c. 3500 BC). This implement is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. One face has been entirely knapped and the other face has about 70% cortex. The flaking at the cutting edge end is long and short, scaled and semi-abrupt. The cortex is grey and buff and the flaked areas have a grey patina with creamy mottling and some iron staining. A modern chip near the butt end on the cortex reveals that the flint is dark grey. A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) glass polychrome opaque bead (c. 480-580). The bead is cylindrical, flat at each end and has a central circular hole through its centre. It is made of three colours; acid yellow, olive green and white. The three colours have been blended and form wavy bands of alternating colours thus: yellow/green/white/green/white/green/yellow/green. Parts of the pin-lug, the foot and the catch-plate are missing due to old breaks. The head-plate is sub-square in plan (10.0 x 14.6mm). An incomplete cast copper alloy brooch of Medieval date (1200-1300). In plan, the brooch has a triangular open frame. It is convex at the front and flat at the rear. Two arms form the sides and the third arm is the bar. All three arms are ‘D’-shaped in cross-section, flat at the rear. Each arm is roughly the same length and at each corner there is a small boss, possibly zoomorphic. However, due to corrosion and possibly wear, this is uncertain.
