Anglo-Scandinavian iron adze 8th/12th century AD part of an extensive collection from a known settlement. The length is 166mm, width of blade 52.3mm, hammer head is 27.2mm wide and 19.6mm length. The eye may have part of the original wedge remaining and was originally 12mm wide, elongated with a square end. The metal is slightly splayed in the area of the hammerhead, adze is curving, the width of adze in the area of eye is 25.3mm.

An almost complete Mesolithic to Early Neolithic flint adze or axehead (c. 10000 BC-c. 3500 BC). This implement is sub-rectangular in plan and sub-triangular in cross-section. One face has been entirely knapped and the other face has about 70% cortex. The flaking at the cutting edge end is long and short, scaled and semi-abrupt. The cortex is grey and buff and the flaked areas have a grey patina with creamy mottling and some iron staining. A modern chip near the butt end on the cortex reveals that the flint is dark grey. Probably an early Bronze Age anvil stone dating to between c2100 and c1500 BC.. It reminiscent of the Early Bronze Age anvil stones from a smiths grave at Lunteren in the Netherlands; see http://1501bc.com/page/rijks_museum_oudheden/0214038.JPG. It is incredibly heavy for its size (too heavy for the finds scales) and shows evidence of continual impacts that appear deliberately placed. It is as likely that the anvil was used in the production of gold items, as well as copper alloy objects. An incomplete late medieval to post-medieval sheet copper alloy dagger scabbard chape. The chape consists of a single plate of folded metal. Most of the chape survives but the mouth is damaged. The front is cracked and appears to be undecorated. The seam can be seen down the length of the reverse. The metal has a smooth and shiny, mid jade-green finish.

A Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age barbed and tang arrowhead. The pale grey translucent flint has some small holes on one face. Both faces have fine retouch all over and on of the barbs is missing. The length is 22.2mm, the surviving width is 20.5mm, the thickness is 3.3mm and the weight is 1.12g.
