An Early Medieval copper alloy enamelled hanging bowl mount (escutcheon) dating to the 7th century. This mount has a tear-dropped shape plate with a hook projecting from the rounded end and crescent-shaped projections (fish-tail in appearance) from the pointed end and from each side. The lower crescent projection is slightly larger than the sides. The reverse is slightly roughened. The front surface is decorated with a symmetrical interlace and fret pattern against an enamelled background. The copper alloy has an even pale green patina.
