An incomplete copper-alloy enameled early-medieval buckle fragment. The object is broadly triangular measuring 36.94mm in length and 12.44mm in width with a possible zoomorphic projection at the tip. The front face of the object is enameled and decorated with raised geometric decoration. There is a circular perforation which has been drilled through the obverse. Above the perforation are two broadly rectangular projections. At the tip is a projection which curves upwards slightly. There is possible abraded zoomorphic decoration although the projection might has been undecorated. …

An incomplete iron helmet of post-medieval date probably a English civil war lobster pot helmet. The helmet is 200mm in surviving height and 210mm wide and 300mm in length. The helmet is formed of two plates joined in the centre with a raised comb. A number of incomplete rivets survive within the two plates, internally they have square sectioned washers (12.6mm wide). A copper alloy strap end of Early Medieval or Medieval date. The strap end is broadly rectangular in plan with an open upper end and a rounded lower terminal. It is formed of a single outer sheet of thick copper alloy with a central void to accomodate the strap (not surviving). The front bears moulded decoration forming foliate designs. A Middle Early-Medieval (700-800) copper alloy silvered lozenge-shaped object, possibly a link from a two- or three-linked pin set. It has a loop at either end. Measures 50.73x16.81x1.89mm and weighs 4.61g. The lozenge shape is defined by a thickened edge. The area between has been chip-carved to show two entwined spirals, both emerging from a central point. Both runs into a smaller spiral either side of the central one, which in turn develops into a pointed lobe inside either end of the lozenge. Copper-alloy strap-fitting, perhaps a strap union or junction, measuring 28.4 x 20.6 x 6.8mm and weighing 8.26g. The strap union is in the form of two roughly triangular loops with straight outside edges, recessed to form narrow strap bars, and linked by a central area on which is mounted a three-dimensional animal head. It has bulbous eyes, flaring nostrils, pronounced snout and pointed ears and measures 10mm long by 4.6mm wide by 2.8mm tall.
