A copper alloy zoomorphic mount probably dating from AD 1000 - 1200. The mount is in the form of a three dimensional beast's head with rounded ears, worn eyes and a tall nose or snout. There is a fleur shaped projection at the snout end. The projection is flat and may represent the animal's tongue. There is a circular rivet hole (now filled with corrosion) through the projection. Another similar rivet holes can be seen in the centre of the creature's head. Beyond the ears, the mount is thin and flat, curving slightly backwards. A copper alloy Pressblech die stamp for making Pressblech foils and dating from the Early Medieval period, about AD 500 - 600. It is a thick (5.6mm), cast, plaque of copper alloy in a triangular shape with a rounded apex, similar to "tongue-shaped" strap ends. The decorated front face is corroded, obscuring most of the detail, but a line border 2.6mm from the edge is visible, and traces of an Anglo-Saxon Salin Style I design within it. Cast copper alloy roughly hexagonal seal matrix, tapering hexagonal shaft topped by a trefoil handle. Seal contains a tripartite design consisting of a a figure of the crucified Christ set against a diapered background. The right of this, and also set within an arch are the figures of the Virgin and Child. The lower field contains the upper part of the figure of a man, his arm raised and, to his right, a chalice. Lead token, the central area of one face bearing three raised horizontal bands one edge of which is notches (labels). Above this is a W motif in the angles of which are dots. Around field is a plain band bearing six irrigular saltires. On the reverse is crude, four petalled flower. Diameter 34.3mm, Thickness 2.1mm, Mass 23.20g.
