A complete copper alloy mount of probable early Medieval date. The mount is broadly rectangular in plan with splayed edges towards the base, which has smooth curved serrations along the bottom edge. The surface of the mount has an incised design of which the centrepiece is the head of a wolf-like animal. The wolf head is flanked by other linear designs but they are hard to distinguish; they may be intended to represent wings. A pair of incomplete copper alloy strap loop fittings dating to the medieval period. The mounts are stylistically very similar and may have come from the same mould and as they were found in close proximity likely came from the same belt. A copper alloy incomplete zoomorphic object, probably a stylus in the Romanesque style and dating to the 12th or 13th century. It has an oval head with moulded ears, eyes brows and nose. Mouth open around a T-shaped projection that may have formed the terminal of the stylus. Probable breaks either side of cross bar. A cast copper alloy gilded mount, possibly a stirrup terminal mount dating to the 12th century. The mount is in the shape of a bird or beast's head, holding a ball in its partly open mouth. The upper part of the head has scrolled tendrils that may indicate eyes, ears and nostrils; at the very tip of the mouth / beak are two small circular recesses filled with a yellow paste or glass: these also have the appearance of nostrils. Incomplete cast copper-alloy mount of uncertain use of probable later Early Medieval date (c.1000-1200 AD). The item is a tapering triangular shape with a zoomorphic terminus at one end and a flat edge at the other where the item has probably been broken in antiquity. The zoomorphic head takes the form of a dog or dragon like beast with flattened back large ears and a a tapered flat-ended snout. The eyes are drilled ring & dot. Complete cast lead-alloy spindle whorl. The artefact is circular in shape and "D" shape in section, with a large central perforation measuring 11.5mm in diameter. Both the upper & lower surfaces of the object are decorated with a series of raised lines cast in relief. These markings are often believed to be runic or other lettering but in most cases, as in this one, the lines cannot be said to represent letters and are a purely abstract design.
