A lead or lead alloy artefact in the shape of a disc. This object weighs 22.65g and is sub-circular with diameter measurements varying between 25.0mm and 24.0mm. The thickness also varies from one side of the disc to the other varying between 5.5mm and 4.1mm. The artefact initially appears to be a seal matrix however it does not have any handle or suspension loop and there is no obvious evidence of one ever having been present. The figurine is shown standing upright with the legs straight and together and the arms close to the side of the body bending forwards slightly from the elbow so that the hands rest just to the front of the upper thighs. Copper-alloy small-long brooch of early Anglo-Saxon date (c. 450-550 AD). The head, bow and top of the foot survive; the terminal of the foot is missing and the iron spring and pin are lost. The head has a raised central panel with a wide flat undecorated border around. The upper corners are extended into 'horns' which curve outwards and taper to a point. A complete flat, circular lead personal seal matrix of Medieval date (13th century). On the front is an engraved central motif depicting an eight-pointed star. This is surrounded by a legend that reads S'GALFRID GAVNTER (Seal of Geoffrey Gaunter). On the reverse, towards the top, is a pierced integral oval suspension lug. There are V-shaped grooves between the ridges, which vary in width somewhat; the fragment appears to be very worn. A worked bone possible gaming piece or counter. The artefact is domed on one side and flat on the other giving it a hemispherical shape. A late Anglo-Saxon lead disc brooch of Weetch type 5. The brooch has a raised pellet at the centre that stands 2.20mm proud of the brooch surface and has a diameter of 4.42mm.
