The decoration on this artefact should be compared to that seen on the rapier knuckle guard recorded in PAS record CAM-F5F949 that has been dated to the 18th century AD. However, this type of strap-fitting is often assigned a 17th to 18th century AD date. This artefact weighs 9.10g and in its current condition has a length of 48.6mm. Almost the entire butt end is missing (old break), making it difficult to determine its original length. It has the remains of one side loop (old break). An undatable (Iron Age to post-medieval, c.700 BC - AD 1800) copper alloy multi-purpose ring with a D-shaped cross section. There is iternal wear to one side of the ring. The object has a diameter of 20.8mm, is 3.7mm thick and weighs 3.43 grams. Rings like these are numerous and would have been multi-purpose, perhaps for hanging keys from a belt, etc.

The object consists of a hooked plate that would have been one of three to have hung from a mount with three suspension loops. In turn, scabbard straps would have been attached to the plates. An incomplete early post-medieval (1500-1700) copper alloy single sharp-hooked tag of Read's Class E Type 3 with circular plate and trapezoidal attachment loop, missing the tip of its hook. The circular plate is decorated with a double-rose in a slightly convex moulded relief (concave to the reverse). The incomplete hook bends back on itself to the reverse of the object. The metal is browny-red in colour with a green surface covering. The object measures 33.9mm in length, 14.1mm in max. width, 4.4mm in thickness (at the hook; the plate is 2.8mm thick) and weighs 2.05g.
