Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A Medieval/Post-Medieval lead uniface token, measuring 18.6mm in diameter, c.1.6mm in thickness and weighing 2.3g. It has two small open holes, probably originating from the manufacturing process.
Obverse: Raised cross hatching.
Lead tokens were easy to produce and widely circulated; they appear in the Medieval period and ones with simple decoration continued in use throughout both the Medieval and Post Medieval period. Therefore, a general date of c. 1250-1800 is suggested for this token.

A fragment of a Post-Medieval (1500-1800) two- or four-part lead cloth seal, and consisting of disc two or four only. It measures 22.2mm in length (with a small part of the connecting strip) and weighs 2.4g.
The surviving disc would have had a central circular aperture but this has been obscured due to the outer section being squashed and folded inwards. It now measures 8.8x3.1mm. Both surfaces are plain but there is some evidence of the imprint of the fabric that it sealed.

Object type: HOOKED TAG
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Greater London Authority
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An Early Post-Medieval (1500-1800) copper alloy hooked tag of Read's Early Post-Medieval Class A Type 1. It measures 30.9x21.4x5.3mm and weighs 4.1g.
The tag consists of a single piece of copper alloy wire bent and flattened at the centre to form a long hook, each running end bending in the same plane to form an open loop to either side. These loops would have been stitched to the fabric to secure the tag. The patina is dark brown with areas of corrosion.
