An incomplete copper-alloy strap end of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 750 - 950. The strap end is of Thomas' Class A, Type 2 with patterned decoration.
The strap end is broadly triangular with a pointed terminal at the closed end and a worn break at the attachment end. The zoomorphic terminal is in the form of a forward facing animal head; much of the surface is damaged or missing but the terminal appears to include raised rounded pellet eyes and a stub-nosed snout. An incomplete copper-alloy medieval French jetton dating to the period c.AD 1418 - 1437. 'Shield of France' type. Triple stranded straight cross fleuretty in four arched tressure reverse. Probably mint of Paris.
Similar jettons are illustrated in Mitchiner, p.191-193 in which the Shield of France is described as a modern issue dated c.1418 - 1437 AD, probably struck at Paris.

A complete lead-alloy spindle whorl of medieval to post-medieval date, c.AD 1100 - 1600. Walton Rogers Form C.
The spindle whorl is bi-conical with a central perforation running through it. Both surfaces have faint traces of moulded decoration though the object is worn obscuring the exact design.
The metal has a mid-brown patina and is worn. The spindle whorl is 27.19mm in diameter, 10.78mm thick and weighs 29.41g. The perforation is 10.06mm in diameter suggesting a medieval date as per the thicker spindles of this period (Walton Rogers, 1997, p.1731). It also fit…

An incomplete copper-alloy pin of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 800 - 950.
The pinhead has a globular head with a flat top and roughly seven longitudinal facets. From the base of the head a collared circular sectioned shaft extends, tapering to a worn break.
The metal has a green patina. The pin survives to a length of 11.19mm, the head has a diameter of 8.16mm while the shaft is 2.02mm in diameter. It weighs 1.98g.
PAS examples of this type have predominantly been found in Yorkshire (Haldenby 2012, 6-7), such as YORYM-F62AEE and YORYM1269. Haldenby suggests tha…
