A lead circular flat weight of Medieval to Post Medieval date c. 1280-1700. The flat weight is circular and thick with possible stamped illegible characters on one face with a rough surface. The reverse is smoother with two transverse impressed grooves (probably damage); with a series of incised lines, possibly the shoulders and bust of a helmeted figure facing right. Lead hem wight. Cast discoid weight with a central sunken panel on one side wherein lie three drilled stitching holes. The metal retains a grey tint suggesting a recent date. Though probably most are of Victorian date, these objects continue to be sold today for crafts. The provision of three holes rather than the usual pair is an unusual feature; this is also a little larger than normal for the type. An incomplete, copper alloy, Headstud brooch of Roman dating, circa (AD 75 - 200). The pin, spring and lower half of the bow and catch plate are missing. In plan the brooch is T-shaped. The wings are rectangular in cross section and the bow is 'D' shaped in section with a flat rear face and rounded upper surface. At the reverse is a rectangular slot that would have held the axis bar and spring.
