An incomplete copper alloy Brooch of Roman date (AD 130-360). The object is a Colchester derivative, Polden Hill type, of Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 3. Group 4i. The object is composed of semi-cylindrical wings with outer raised double collared ends with a rear-hook at the top of the head. The spring, pin and axis bar are partially retained within the back of the wings. The bowhead is hump-like in profile. The body tapers to an abraded break resulting in the loss of the foot and catchplate.

A near complete copper alloy decorated headstud brooch, dating to the Roman period (circa AD 75 to AD 175) .
The brooch is broken at its centre and in two pieces. The foot and head loop are missing.

An incomplete copper alloy T-shaped (initial) T137 hinged brooch of Roman date (AD 55-100). The head of the brooch is comprised of wide tubular wings with a central rectangular groove, and axis bar around which the loop of the hinged pin is retained. The object is sub-rectangular with a D-shaped section, rounded corners and ends. Often referred to as ‘finger’ shaped. The object is fairly regular in form, suggesting it was cast, and no signs of hammering are present.
The metal has a dark green/brown patina and is worn. The object is 54.7mm long, 15.4mm wide, 12.2mm thick and weighs 44.6g.

An incomplete copper-alloy pin of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 700 - 900.
The pin comprises a spherical head and circular sectioned shaft. The head is decorated with sinuous spiralling grooves, a decorative type known informally as 'wrythen-headed'. The shaft extends from the base of the head and terminates in a worn break. A collar is present at the junction between the head and shaft.
The metal has a dark brown patina and survives in good condition. The pin is 31mm long, 9.5mm in diameter at the head and 1.8mm in diameter at the shaft, and weighs 3.3g.

Five fragments of bloomery slag that appear to have been produced from the tapping process. All display smooth molten ridges and channels on the face characteristic of runs of solidified molten taped slag. The button is decorated with an engraved eight arm spiral, with annulets at the ends of alternate arms and a small dot-in-annulet at the centre. There is a linear border around the rim. An incomplete copper-alloy brooch of late Iron Age to early Roman date, c. 100 BC – AD 100. Uncertain type.
The brooch comprises a rectangular plate with a narrowed elongated trapezoidal foot to one end and an integral coiled spring to the other. The circular sectioned spring extends from the centre of one edge of the plate. It extends backwards and curves up and round to form a coil. The coil continues upward and curves over the central spring to form a second coil to the other side. The coil then extends downward to form the tapering sectioned pin.

The terminal is flat, triangular in form and missing parts of its outer edges due to old breaks. There is no evidence of decoration on the front plate.
