A incomplete cast copper-alloy "cooking pot" loop-chape for a shoe buckle, dating to the Post-Medieval period (c.AD 1690-1720).
The loop-chape is formed of trapeziodal loop with a single triangular internal spike on the outer edge. The frame has two drilled spindle terminals but does not have the spindle or tongue. The loop-chape has a green even surface patina.
The chape measures measures 26.6mm in length, 23.7mm width and is 3mm thick. It weighs 3.2 grams.

A complete copper alloy double loop buckle of post medieval date c. AD 1550-1650.
The buckle frame is sub-rectangular in plan and has rounded edges. It has a recessed strap bar at the mid point and has the intact pin still in place. The pin is formed from one piece of copper and curls over the strap bar to form a thin triangular shaped pin. At either end of the buckle frame is a moulded sub-triangular projection which is decorated with two incised lines.

A cast copper alloy pin from a Medieval annular buckle, 42mm in length. The pin has a sub rectangular cross section with rounded corners. There is a small raised grip at the junction with the loop which likely aided with the operation of the buckle. The articulation loop is complete but has been bent open. Circa late 13th-15th century.

A Medieval copper-alloy oval framed buckle, dating to AD 1350-1400. The buckle consists of a oval frame, with a narrow offset bar, the pin and a recess for the leather strap. There are two diagonally extending prominent lobed knops, both plain in decorative details. The knops are flanking a recessed central section on the outer edge. This recessed section contains a 'roller' which is now missing. The pin remains and is oval in cross section, tapering to a point above the roller. The pin is bent around the recessed bar.

An incomplete Medieval buckle plate, dating to c.AD 1200 - 1400. The buckle plate is rectangular in plan and section, at one end are two incomplete rectangular attachments, the opposing end has two circular rivet holes, one of these retains a cylindrical rivet. The front of the plate is decorated, due to wear, much of this decoration is obscured. The underside of the plate is undecorated.

Description: The D-shaped frame has steeply sloping surfaces and reaches its maximum width at the centre of the outer bar, with the axis bar being offset. The frame is undecorated and the pin is missing.
Measurements: Length: 20.72 mm; Width: 13.7 mm; Thickness: 4.11 mm and Weight: 2.28 g.

Description: The copper alloy frame has uniform dimensions on each side. All edges are slightly bevelled on the upper and lower faces. There is a slight notch on the shorter (bar). The frame has a mid-brown coloured patina. The pin is missing.

An incomplete medieval cast copper alloy single loop trapezoidal buckle with an integral plate, which tapers back in line with the sides of the frame and has incised dot-in-annulet motifs either side of a hole for the pin with a small (incomplete) rivet hole behind. The front edge of the frame has a notched lobe at the centre for a pin rest. The rear end of the plate has been lost, but the central portion was openwork with a large central cutaway, possibly originally having a (now lost) central element projecting back from the rivet. A pointed copper alloy pin is retained.

A copper alloy buckle.
The buckle, cast, is roughly rectangular in plan, trapezoid in cross section. There is decoration running around the perimeter of the internal frame in the form of diagonal grooves. Each corner of the outer edge of the frame ends in a point knop although one corner is truncated with the knop now missing. Centrally, along each shorter outer edge the frame curves in an ‘M’ shape.
The strap bar is truncated and missing. A slight indent present in the frame may indicate the original presence of a pin, now lost.
