An incomplete medieval cast copper alloy single loop trapezoidal buckle with an integral plate, which tapers back in line with the sides of the frame and has incised dot-in-annulet motifs either side of a hole for the pin with a small (incomplete) rivet hole behind. The front edge of the frame has a notched lobe at the centre for a pin rest. The rear end of the plate has been lost, but the central portion was openwork with a large central cutaway, possibly originally having a (now lost) central element projecting back from the rivet. A pointed copper alloy pin is retained.

A copper alloy gilded buckle plate and pin, dating to the Medieval period (c.1200-1400). It has two rectangular rectangular plates, front and back, connected with two narrowed integral strips with central slot for the pin extending from one end. The rest of the frame has curved edges but is not decorated. This form is possibly intended to represent the knot in a tied cord girdle, with the projections imitating tassels.
