Copper alloy buckle. Cast sub-rectangular buckle with a flat frame with rounded corners and a strap bar of round section set back from the frame. The allowance for a thick strap and the robust construction suggest this was for use with horse trappings. Bent, probably by plough-strike rather than use. Traces of rust on the strap bar suggest an iron pin has been lost. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900 Length: 53.3mm, Height: 66.3mm, Thickness (overall): 12.4mm, Weight: 52.23gms

Cast disc-on-pin buckle with five rounded bosses in a cruciform arrangement on a flat rhomboid plate from which a short [5.8mm] pin projects, Redmayne Type A5 'five raised boss type'.
