An incomplete bow and fantail brooch; with a hinged pin about AD 85-140. It can be classified as Mackreth TR 4.1b2. The brooch is broken in two, across the top of the central rectangle. An incomplete copper alloy Roman zoomorphic plate brooch. The brooch is moulded in the form of a water fowl with closed wings. The impression of wings is created by two paralell incised grooves running running the length of the centre of the bird's back.  The tail is squared and pierced with a small, off-centre, circular hole.
