An enamelled copper alloy plate brooch. It is circular, a raised border on the outer circumference and approximately halfway along the diameter forms a section, inside which cells for enamel are formed by alternate high and low sections. On the raised parts there are traces of a blue enamel. The central section of the brooch would have been divided into six triangular sections, like wheel spokes, which would have also have been enamelled. Three of these remain. An incomplete copper-alloy headstud brooch of Roman date, c.AD 75 - 200. Mackreth 2011, Hinged Headstud Type, no direct parallel.
The head of the brooch comprises tubular wings which act as a double lug hinge mechanism. An axis bar remains fitted through the lug though is broken and worn to either end and from the central slot. The pin no longer remains.

An incomplete copper-alloy plate brooch of probable Early-Medieval date, c.AD 850 – 1000.
The brooch is flat with a narrow D-shaped section and is in the form of a bird, possibly a cockerel, facing left.
Faint moulded lines decorate the upper surface denoting a hooked beak, small crest above the head, a pointed wing extending up and backwards from the shoulder of the bird and a thick curved tail from the back end. A small, rectangular projecting plate to the bottom of the brooch represents the feet of the bird.

An incomplete copper-alloy disc brooch of Roman date, c.AD 80 - 250. Mackreth 2011, British Plate Brooch, uncertain sub-type.
The brooch is circular with worn edges. The upper surface has a white-metal coating displaying file marks and is otherwise undecorated.
The remains of a hinge mechanism and catchplate are present at opposing points of the reverse which is otherwise flat. The pin no longer remains.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The brooch is 23.4mm in diameter, 6mm thick (with hinge), 1.4mm thick at the plate and weighs 3.8g.

A fragment of a copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the middle of the bow survives. It has a worn acanthus moulding of three petal above and three below a central disc. There is a double collar above and below. The lower bow is D shaped in cross-section. The breaks are worn and patinated. It is 26.6mm long, 5.7mm wide and 7.2mm thick. It weighs 3.2g.

Only the footplate survives. The fragment is in the form of a anthropomorphic frontal-facing head with a transverse band above its head. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman brooch, a headstud type dating from AD 75 - 200. Only the head of the brooch survives and it is very corroded. It has plain wings with a tubular housing behind for the axis bar. The hinged pin is missing. There is a very worn integral headstud on the top of the bow. The lower bow is broken, so only two recessed cells for enamel survive. They appear to contain red and blue enamel. It is 16.6mm long, 11.9mm wide and 6.6mm thick. It weighs 3g. This brooch appears to fit into Mackreth's (2011) headstud group 4.

A complete copper-alloy brooch of medieval date, c.AD 1250-1400.
The brooch comprises a quatrefoil frame with a D-shaped section. The corner of each lobe displays an ovate rounded knop. One arch of the frame has a circular perforation through which a pin is fitted. The pin is formed of a thin piece of copper-alloy wire and is fitted through the frame by an open loop.
The metal has a dark brown/green patina and is worn. The object is 23.5mm long, 23.7mm wide, 1.4mm thick and weighs 2.1g.

The brooch is a pointed ovate with a slightly narrowed waist to the rounded end and worn edges. The upper surface of the plate bears blue enamel.
