A complete post medieval lead alloy shot probably from a flintlock military wall gun dating between 1700-1800 AD. The shot is sub-spherical, with a small flattened section possibly resulting from the inclusion of the shot in a multiple load. The shot has numerous linear divots and striations across its surface, possibly caused by gas erosion, an effect occurring at the instant of firing an unwadded projectile.
