A base silver and possibly plated contemporary copy of a Roman denarius of Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180), probably dating to the period AD 161-211. [FOR]TVNAE-REDVC[], Fortuna seated left holding rudder and cornucopiae. Uncertain mint. This coin combines an obverse of Marcus Aurelius dated to AD 172-173 (cf. RIC III, p. 234) with a reverse type unlisted for Marcus but evident in the later issues of Septimius Severus (cf. RIC IV.1, p. 100, no. 78). It is likely that this represents a contemporary copy struck in the late-2nd to early-3rd centuries AD.
