A toy watch made from a copper or tin alloy (pewter or spelter). It is circular with cast details including a pair of hands (set to about 13:52) and the numerals, which are retrograde. The back of the is decorated with concentric ridges. Originally the watch would probably have had a glass cover (see LANCUM-85C3B5 and WMID-CAF788). Circa 19th or early 20th century. A fragmentary Post Medieval ceramic sherd from a vessel base, probably a handled cup/mug (‘tyg’) or jar, of 17th century AD date. The fragment is black glazed red ‘Cistercian’ ware with a surviving height of 21.0mm and width of 33.7mm. A sharp fragment is adhered to the inside surface of the base indicating an explosion in the kiln or misfire likely damaged this vessel beyond repair. An incomplete cast copper alloy side-looped spearhead of Middle Bronze Age date. Probably of Davis’ (2012) Group 5 A (Wide Blade) of the Acton Park metalworking phase (1550-1400 BC). At its mouth, the socket has a diameter of 2mm and an aperture diameter of 17.4mm, as well as an aperture depth greater than 43mm (the very end of the shaft aperture is still filled by soil to an unknown depth). Description & identification Gold ring in the form of a plain narrow band of flattened D cross section. The inner face is engraved with legend: Love & live happy in italics. A fragment of a silver post-medieval shilling of Edward VI (1547-1553), unclear mint, 1549-1550 (North 1918/1-1925). Two segments have been removed from the coin leaving a roughly triangular piece, which encompasses most of the central area of the coin along with part of the inscribed edge. The coin appears to have then been rolled up, but a recent break has caused the last segment to separate from the rest of the coin, leaving it in two pieces.
