A snapped flint piece of tertiary debitage / blade of later Mesolithic date (4000 -3000BC). The blade is rectangular in plan and has a crested cross section. The striking platform and bulb of percussion are present on the ventral face and the blade has been snapped near the mid-point; the break is old and patinated. The ventral face shows a bulb of percussion whilst the dorsal has several areas of flake removals. The flake measures: 19.8mm length, 26.5mm width and is 5.6mm thick. It weighs 2.1 grams.

The fabric of the sherd is a very hard earthenware (almost viscous stoneware) with a number of small rounded and sub-angular grit and quartz inclusions.
