An incomplete lead alloy pilgrim's ampulla dating to the Medieval period, c. AD 1300 - 1500. The lead flask and a small amount of the neck remains.  The ampulla has a circular body and a neck that extends outwards from one end. The faces of the object would have been flat or slightly convex, but have been pressed in, or flattened. One side has moulded decoration present, consisting of radiating ribs, forming a scallop shell motif. Lead window came fragment. A short length of cast H-section window came with a trapped fragment of dark degraded glass at one end on one side. Patinated. This came would have permitted the setting of two small adjacent panes. The glass is reverting to its constituent ingredients, which is a feature of a medieval ‘forest’ glass made using potash, rather than the more robust soda glasses of earlier and later times. A cast lead alloy Medieval button dating to c.AD 1300-1550. This button has a slightly bent profile and a wide diameter, with two central holes set in a circular recess. These are now filled with soil. This artefact has a few surface marks and an even grey surface patina. The button is 24.29mm in diameter, 3.02mm thick and weighs 12.07 grams. An incomplete lead Papal bulla probably of Pope Nicholas III (1277-80). It has been folded and broken post-deposition, neither the reverse or obverse are entirely clear. The outer face/die is decorated with the central design of a a flower, flaring at it's lower end into a triangular shape, with three curving leaf-like motifs. This is surrounded by a solid line inner circle followed by the inscription +S IOIH' hENR'  FIL ALEXAVD, perhaps reading Seal of John Henry Son of Alexander?
