An incomplete worked flint barbed and tanged arrowhead of Bronze Age date (c.1500-1100 BC). The object is triangular in plan with two notches in the base between the central tang and a barb to either side. One of these barbs is almost completely missing and the other is broken across the end. It is formed from a tertiary flake of translucent grey-brown flint which is bifacially worked with covering, scaled, low angle removals.  Measurements: Length: 21.6mm; Width: 17.8mm; Thickness: 3.1mm; Weight: 0.95g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy small long brooch of Early-medieval date, c. AD 450-550. Only the head and upper bow of the brooch survive in tact. The head is square in plan with seven (7) small perforations, one in each corner and one at the centre of three of the edges. The head is fairly worn around the edges so that only two perforations remain complete. The head is decorated with three incised lines, dividing the centre of the head from the perforated areas. A heavily corroded copper alloy book clasp. This example is rectangular in plan with two copper alloy rivets retained at the rear. The forward edge has a narrowed tab that has been bent around to form a hook. The face is decorated with two concentric rings towards the rear.     Artefacts such as this have been discovered during excavation in York which dated to the 15th and 16th centuries (Ottaway & Rogers, 2002, 2937-2939)

A near complete cast lead-tin alloy (pewter) toy dating to the post-medieval period (c. AD 1600-1800).  The toy is in the form of an open-mouthed ewer or jug, on a pedistal base. The jug is hexagonally faceted, as is the base. The mouth of the jug is crenellated and is decorated just below its upper edge. The decoration takes the form of horizontal linear border. The forward edge has a narrowed tab that has been bent around to form a hook. The face is decorated with six square stamps that that have an eight paralleled flowed within and a ring a dog at the rear.    Artefacts such as this have been discovered during excavation in York which dated to the 15th and 16th centuries (Ottaway & Rogers, 2002, 2937-2939)

A copper alloy casket key of Medieval date, about AD 1100 - 1500.  The bow is in the form of a lozenge with a large, circular perforation and is separated from the shank by a transverse collar. The shank is circular in cross section and tapers to a blunt point at the outer end where there is a projecting tip. A rectangular bit projects out at 90 degrees to the stem and has a single, forward facing ward at the front of the lower edge.
