An incomplete base or plated silver Roman denarius of Severan date, possibly of Caracalla (AD 198-217) dating to the period c.AD 212-217 (Reece period 10). Reverse: (VO?)[…]TA, Emperor(?) togate, standing left sacrificing over a tripod. Prototype of the mint of Rome. The bust type is slightly unclear due to the preservation of the coin but seems to be an older Caracalla rather than Severus, Geta, or Elagabalus. What survives of the reverse suggests a Vota type but with legend that isn't seen on Caracalla's later issues, probably indicating this is an irregular copy…

A plated silver Roman denarius of caracalla (AD 198-217), dating to the period c.AD 198-217 (Reece period 10). Probably LIBERTAS AVGG reverse type depicting Libertas standing left holding pileus and rod. Prototype of the mint of Rome. This is probably a contemporary copy combining an obverse from early in Caracalla's reign (c. AD 198-200) with a reverse type proper to Septimius Severus dating to c.AD 197-200. Cf. RIC IV.1 no. 133 for the probable reverse type.  The coin has a copper-alloy core with plated silver surface, much of which is missing at the edges of the flan.…

A base-silver denarius, possibly a contemporary copy, of Caracalla as Caesatr (AD 196-8) (Reece Period 10, possibly [PIETAS], Pietas standing left at altar, holding box of incense.  Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 1, p. 213, no. 12.  It is quite possible that this is a regular coin, but its appearance suggest that it is quite base silver, suggesting it might be a copy. The PIETAS type is scarce and it is possible it is a copy of a coin with a reverse from another coin. Diameter: 16.23 mm;  Weight: 1.99g.

The coin does appear base, but silver denarii of this period can discolour because they were struck in debased silver. It is possible, however, that this is a contemporary copy.

AD 199-211 (Reece Period 10), PART MAX P M TR P VI (P P) or VI(II), Two captives seated either side of trophy. Prototype Mint probably Rome. This coin is problematic because the obverse type and general reverse type were not used together. Furthermore, the reverse legend is not a normal one, the closest being a PART MAX P M TR P VIIII(?)
