A fragment of a Roman cast copper-alloy swivel fitting, possibly from an oil flask. The object consists of a central trapezoidal boss with sub-oval cross section which has a pierced centre holding a copper alloy pivot. The sides of the boss are decorated with rectangular panels containing a row of dots, which may have been enamelled (as per DENO-54B3D1). This boss is flanked by the stumps of a pair of integrally cast curved hooks with moulded grooved collars. These would have held a pair of chains for the suspension of the flask.

A copper alloy probable handle from a vessel of probable Roman date (AD 43-410). It is T-shaped in form, the trunk of the object curling behind itself to form a loop, terminating in a foot just behind (but not touching) the cross-bar. The cross-bar retains two separate copper alloy rivets. The cross-bar is rectangular in cross-section with rounded short ends and measures 38.9mm in width. Either arm-end extends inwards at the centre to form a trunk composed of two ribs. This results in the central third of the cross-bar having a V-shaped cleft, filled with moulded decoration in the fo…
